Biographical Notes:

Gary McGowan serves as an arbitrator and mediator in both national and international disputes, often complex, high-stakes matters. Before donning the neutral cloak, he was a business litigator for 16 years, most notably as a founding partner of Susman, Godfrey & McGowan. As a neutral, he has a reputation for effectiveness, thorough preparation, and quick discernment of the pivotal points for deciding or resolving a dispute.

Based on a national survey, Law Dragon 500 named him as one of the 500 best judges (both public and private) in the United States, and the Texas Lawyer, relying on a survey of Texas lawyers, picked him as one of five “Top Notch” arbitrators and mediators in Texas. Texas Monthly has selected him as a Texas Super Lawyer in each of the last eight years.

Listed in the 20th Edition of The Best Lawyers in America, and named the Best Lawyers' 2014 Houston Mediation "Lawyer of the Year".

RATES & PAYMENT INFORMATION

Rates: $600 per hour for all time

Payment: Mediations: due upon receipt of invoice post-mediation. Arbitration: estimated costs must be advanced in the early stages. Any unused amount to be refunded after the proceeding ends.

Cancellation Policy: None for mediation. In arbitrations: 8-hr per day charge for hearing days cancelled on less than three weeks notice.
